Severe error(s) occurred in phase PREP_INIT/VALCHK_INI!
Last error code set: BI_CONT is in an undefined state, that is not safe
to be upgraded, reason Upgrade wasn't completed - Call the SAP Support

Solution to Reset:

0- stope all SAPup Process and restart the server. Open command prompt>

1.  Change to the SUM directory (Windows: SUM\abap\bin)
\SAPup.exe reset prepare

Choose Option 01
After reset delete SUM dir
Delete the SUM directory


Login as user DDIC in client 000 and execute the report three times in
the given sequence and parameters:
RSUPGREV with GV_MODE=ICNV
RSUPGREV with GV_MODE=SHDT
RSUPGREV with GV_MODE=UPGT

parameter GV_FORCE was left as is.
Log is written to tmp folder.

Then please restart the upgrade with the latest SUM.
